ABOUT
Valerie Buddle is an enthusiastic, dedicated, and bilingual administrator with over 10 years of experience in the not-for-profit cultural sector (specifically in dance), including 4 years in management. With experience in administration, production coordination, tour management, event planning, and fundraising, she combines her passion for culture with her excellent organizational skills to make a success out of every job! She enjoys learning from others in her field and is committed to finding a solution for every challenge.
Valerie is also a choreographer of highly physical, emotionally charged works. She is profoundly inspired by the emotional journey of the personal experience and is deeply committed to giving it physical expression. She has been creating work and presenting it at various venues and festivals in Canada for over 12 years. Presentations include Bouge d'ici (Montreal), Studio 303 (Montreal), the FAST Festival (Sorel, QC), Guelph Dance (Guelph, ON), and Series 8:08 (Toronto), among others.
Valerie holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in contemporary dance from Concordia University. From 2006 to 2013, she worked in administration and production for José Navas/Compagnie Flak and since 2013 she is the General Manager of The Margie Gillis Dance Foundation. She is a member of the Regroupement Québécois de la Danse and the English Language Arts Network, where she sits on the board of directors.
